Aunt Jean Weekend & Potty Training off the Rails

My sister was in town from Washington DC this weekend. She took the girls to gymnastics class on Friday and then we had a fairly low key weekend. Took the girls to the playground despite 35 degree temps and 18 degree wind chill (in April!!). Auntie tried to back out of the playground outing but we weren't having it. Welcome to Minnesota.

Potty training took a major step back with Etta on Saturday multiple #1 accidents and two #2s in a span of just a few hours. We don't know if this is a behavioral reaction or if she was just tired and having a bad day. Regardless, things seemed to have normalized a bit but it was a messy day. And an eye opening one for my sister.

We're now three weeks into mom's deployment and they have been really good up to this point. However, the questions about when mom is coming home are getting more frequent (still 2 weeks to go unless there is an extension). We made a calendar for them and did a pretty good job of explaining that mom is far away and will be gone a long time. But in the relative time span of a toddler, it appears that "a long time" has passed.
