Daddy Doing Hair

Why is it that when I get the girls up for school, they are sound asleep and don't want to move, but when our nanny shows up at 7 AM they come running down the stairs?

Regardless, we had a discussion about hair on the way to school yesterday that blew their minds. They couldn't believe I had never done a little girl's hair before they were born. The conversation included questions like:

Marie: Were you with your parents when you learned how?

Etta: Were we in mommy's tummy?

I had to repeatedly explain that they were the first people to experience my attempts at pulling together a pony tail. This drew several "huh?"s from the back seat.
