Easter

Easter Sunday got off to a slow start, as it was a cold, rainy morning and neither of the girls wanted to get out of bed. Etta declared, "Sometimes it's hard to wake up on Easter."
I had to put the girls in their Easter dresses, and quickly realized that I'm not an expert at putting girls in dress clothes. Since it was so cold out, I decided to put undershirts on them, make their breakfast, and then put their dresses on only when it was time to leave for church. What I didn't consider was that undershirts don't go very well with fancy dresses, and I had to do some creative adjusting of the dresses to keep straps from showing. Then we got to church and it was cold enough that they wanted to keep their jackets on. Only then did it dawn on me that a light sweater over the dress would have made more sense than the undershirt approach.
I had been trying all week to teach them the first verse of "Jesus Christ is Risen Today". The girls were so excited when it was time to sing this song in church that they jumped up and down throughout.
Alas, we survived church and then went to their cousins' house for an Easter egg hunt. By this point I had changed them into oversized Virginia t-shirts because of the impending Elite 8 baskeball game. On the drive back home, Etta had a potty accident that soaked through the t-shirt. This proved to be an omen for the game.
No trouble getting them to bed last night. As always, waking up on Monday morning was another story.
