Change of Plans

In my last post I promised to catch up on stories from our Colorado vacation, Christmas, etc. Clearly I have done no such thing.
A couple weeks ago, mom got a call asking her to spend six weeks in American Samoa responding to the Zika outbreak. So instead of using my abundant spare time on blog updates, I've been on single parenting duty and will continue to be through mid-to-late April. That seems like a much more entertaining blog topic.
Things have gone very well so far, though there's no question the girls miss their mom. My favorite quote so far - from Etta when I woke her up for school on Monday: "I like you but I love mommy."
Hair is proving to be my biggest challenge. I can fake a reasonable pony tail to get the hair out of their face, but the "Anna and Elsa braids" are out of the question until mom returns.
Adding to the fun today... we're getting a blizzard right now. On March 23. So I need to suffer through a 3:00 meeting and then hit the road to pick the girls up at preschool. Might be a long commute today.
More to come!
