Future Teenage Behavior

At church yesterday we had two teenage girls around us - one to my left and one behind. The one behind us was with her family. The girl to my left was a bit older, sitting with her brother and no parents.

The girl behind us made faces at the girls, smiled during the sign of peace, and talked to us as church ended. The one on my left never made eye contact and rolled her eyes as she took the collection plate out of my hand.

Throughout church all I could think was, "How do you raise your daughter to be THIS teenager and not THAT teenager?"
