The girls play in a sandy playground at preschool. We learned the hard way that if you wait until bath time to take their shoes off, the bathroom floor gets covered in sand. I wisely revised the routine to taking their shoes off and dumping the sand before we come in the house after school.
Marie picked up on this routine and is quite the proactive problem solver. Sitting in her car seat behind me on the way home yesterday she proudly declared, "Daddy, I cleaned the sand out of my shoes!" My floor mats are proof that yes, yes she did.
